"The Bones of Richard II"
No. 28312
H 42cm
Description
The bones of Richard III, found in the central English city of Leicester in 2012 and confirmed as genuine in 2013, inspired the artist to create this work. Around the same time, Fries acquired a Thonet doll carriage in England. An attic find of which, unfortunately, in the end only fragments were preserved. The combination led to the work "The Bones of Richard II".
